The response leads to the production of increased amounts of specific IgE in case of classic allergy or IgG antibodies in the case of food intolerance (or hidden food allergy). With food intolerance, the symptoms are delayed and may not show for some hours or up to three days after eating the offending food. This makes it difficult to associate the symptoms with the offending food and many people live with hidden food allergies without knowing it. The offending foods are usually those which are eaten regularly and for some people, dependence on and craving for them may develop. In the blood, the IgG antibodies produced against a specific food, combine with that food to form immune complexes. These complexes may accumulate in the tissues and joints where they interfere with the normal cellular function and thus causing a wide range of symptoms, and contributing to the development of disease Allergy Symptoms And Associated Health Problems Although this type of allergy is rarely life threatening, it may cause an array of uncomfortable symptoms and chronic diseases. Symptoms which may be mild to severe can vary within an individual and from person to person. Below are some of the commonest symptoms: à Asthma, hay fever, runny nose à Irregular heartbeat and increased heart rate à Dark circles around the eyes (allergic shiners) à Swelling, puffiness and wrinkles under the eyes à Weight problems and obesity à Chronic fluid retention (oedema), chronic swollen glands à Excessive nasal mucous and stuffy nose, chest congestion à Ear infections and rhinitis, recurrent sinusitis à Tinnitus (ringing, buzzing or popping in ears) à Diarrhoea, constipation, IBS, Inflammatory Bowel Disease à Bloating, flatulence, belching, gastritis à Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Depression, Anxiety, Insomnia à Headaches and migraines, low energy and chronic fatigue syndrome Þ For more information on symptoms - click here
About The Tests The tests are designed to identify the offending foods in delayed reaction Food Allergy or Food Intolerance, by measuring the antibodies produced against each of the offending foods. The test uses the modern, highly accurate Enzyme Linked Immunoassay (ELISA) method to detect and measure food specific IgG antibodies. To see which foods are analysed in the tests, please click on: The IgG90 Allergy Test. Some people have an inherited predisposition to food allergy. However, other people can develop an allergy reaction to food if they are exposed to the following risk factors: Þ Regular consumption of a limited number of allergy-triggering foods Þ Improper weaning or early introduction of solids Þ High intake of food additives and preservatives Þ Long-term use of some drugs and medications Þ Adrenal exhaustion (fatigue) and chronic stress Þ Inherited predisposition to allergies Þ Nutrient deficiencies, imbalances and toxic metal excess Þ For more information on causes - click here

Simple Gastro Test What is the role of hydrochloric acid (stomach acid)? A vital early stage of digestion takes place in the stomach where hydrochloric acid (HCl) is produced. HCl stimulates the production of protein-digesting enzymes and it triggers the pancreas and gall bladder to produce further digestive enzymes for the digestion of fat and carbohydrates. Low stomach acid can result in incompletely digested food particles in the intestines that irritate the delicate lining of the bowel wall. Stomach acid also provides good protection against bugs and infections. Low stomach acid is relatively common particularly as we age. __________________________________________ If you would like to purchase a test please visit our shop, or if you would like to book an appointment for a Nutritional Consultation, please call evive on 0118 973 3094 or click here.
